Objectives

Our Medical Assistant program’s objectives are to develop in the student the necessary personal traits with the highest possible office and technical skills needed to perform as an efficient Medical Assistant. You can learn to demonstrate, at all times, strong ethics and respect for the dignity and safety of the patient.

Associate in Applied Science Degree
Objectives

This program’s objectives are to develop in the student the necessary personal traits with the highest possible office and technical skills needed to perform as an efficient Medical Assistant. You can learn to demonstrate, at all times, strong ethics and respect for the dignity and safety of the patient. An A.A.S. degree will provide evidence of competencies in communications, social sciences, humanities and fine arts, analytical and inferential reasoning, and computational skills, as well as the ability to learn on your own.

Our Medical Assistant program in Minnesota prepares graduates to perform as multi-skilled practitioners qualified to provide healthcare under the direct supervision of a physician in a doctor’s office, hospital or clinic. Performing a wide range of skills, the Medical Assistant will be able to meet the demands of a rapidly changing healthcare field. Our Medical Assistant classes can teach you secretarial skills, scheduling and receiving patients, handling incoming mail, correspondence, filing, insurance claims, patient accounting and collection, scheduling and performing a wide range of diagnostic tests, CPR, EKGs, injections, assisting the physician with minor surgeries, and handling some emergency situations.
