Objectives
This program will provide medical office training with specialization
in medical coding and insurance billing.
Associate in Applied Science Degree
Objectives
This program will provide medical office training with specialization
in
medical coding and insurance billing. An A.A.S. degree will provide evidence
of competencies
in communications, social sciences, humanities and fine arts, analytical and
inferential reasoning, and computational skills, as well as the ability to learn
on one’s own.
Career Opportunities
This program prepares graduates for employment in hospitals, clinics,
doctors’ offices, nursing homes and home health agencies.
They will assemble patients’ health information;
ensure all forms are completed, properly identified and
signed;
and assign
a code to each diagnosis and procedure to determine the
amount of reimbursement to be received from the insurance
company.
