Career Opportunities
Do you enjoy helping people? Would you like to make a positive difference in people’s lives? Graduates of DBU’s Human Services program are prepared for entry-level careers in rehabilitation centers, group residential facilities, mental health centers, substance abuse programs, aging programs, women’s resource centers, and family, child, and youth service agencies. Human Services professionals assist clients with daily living skills, help individuals obtain needed services, and/or lead therapeutic group activities.
Objectives
The Human Services degree program is designed to give students a foundation in the theories and skills needed as a human services practitioner. This program combines a thorough study of human service issues, general education courses, and supervised field experiences to provide the student with entry-level professional competence in this field.
Some human service careers require education beyond an associate degree. DBU has an agreement with the University of Phoenix to provide an online opportunity to pursue a baccalaureate degree.
