Does medicine interest you, but you prefer to work in an office
setting? DBU’s Medical Billing and Coding program is
for you! Students can complete this program in just three
academic quarters. You’ll learn the codes used by the
healthcare industry for reimbursement. Graduates are ready
for careers in hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices,
nursing homes, and home health agencies. Some Medical Billing
and Coding professionals even work from home. You’ll
play an important role in today’s medical environment
by assembling patients’ health information, ensuring
that all forms are properly completed, assigning a code to
each diagnosis and procedure, and determining the amount of
reimbursement to be received from the insurance company.

This program will provide medical office training with specialization
in medical coding and insurance billing. An A.A.S. degree
will provide evidence of competencies in communications, social
sciences, humanities and fine arts, analytical and inferential
reasoning, and computational skills, as well as the ability
to learn on one’s own.
