How long to complete my training?

When are classes offered?
  • Classes are offered in the morning, evening and online. Depending on your schedule, you can register for day, evening or online classes, or even a combination of all three.
When does each quarter start?
  • We have four quarter starts a year: January, April, July and October. The Medical Office Assistant program starts every five weeks.
How much will it cost?
  • DBU has competitive tuition costs. Any cost to the student is dependent on the financial aid you might be qualified for, the scholarships you might be awarded, community resources you are eligible for, or the number of classes you might transfer in.
Will my credits transfer?
  • Because the objective of the career training offered at DBU is to prepare students for employment immediately following graduation, courses were not designed with transferability in mind.  Students must assume that credits for courses taken at DBU are not transferable to other institutions.  DBU does hold articulation and consortium agreements with several two and four year colleges which will assist students to continue their education at another level.  Please remember that credit transfer is ALWAYS determined at the sole discretion of the receiving institution.

Does DBU offer classes for High School students?
  • We offer both general education classes and beginning level classes through our High School Advantage Program. High school seniors may be awarded the opportunity to take one college level class each quarter, free of tuition charge, before they graduate from high school.  This allows seniors the chance to see what some careers are like and if it is something they would like to pursue. These classes will transfer to your chosen career training at DBU if you enroll the following summer or fall quarter after your high school graduation.   This opportunity is a significant time saver as well as a money saver for seniors.
Can I take online classes if I don't have a computer at home?
  • Certainly you can.  DBU has computers available for your use Monday thru Thursday from 7:30 am until 10:00 pm and Friday 7:30 am until 4:30 pm.  Some students prefer to come on campus to do their work.  It is quiet and help is available.

  • We have several programs that are offered totally online and some that are offered at our campus in Duluth. Numerous classes that are part of our programs offered on campus are also available to you online.  In fact, many students prefer to use the computers on campus to complete their course work at a time that is convenient for them.
