The Medical Administrative Assistant Program will prepare you for work in pre-hospital and hospital environments, physicians' offices, urgent care facilities, and nursing homes. You will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to coordinate, expedite, and facilitate functions of the medical office.

Objectives
After completing this program, the student will be prepared to perform the following functions: greeting patients and making appointments, coordinating patient care, filing patients’ financial records and medical records, filing the medical practice’s own information, arranging hospital admissions, maintaining various financial records, making calls for physicians and other healthcare personnel, arranging physicians' meetings and conferences, coding procedures and diagnoses, purchasing supplies and equipment, accounting for payments and posting charges, recording and relaying messages, processing insurance claims, and scheduling patient appointments and surgeries. Most of this work will be done using computers and special healthcare computer programs.
